Ke He, MD

Ke He, MD (何锞)

Deputy Director & Head of Skin & Laser Aesthetics · Attending Physician, Licensed Aesthetic Attending

Skin & laser aesthetics · botulinum toxin treatment · energy-based treatment

Dr. Ke He is Deputy Director of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center and head of its skin and laser aesthetic service at Chongqing West District Hospital, and she is the lead physician of this hyperhidrosis service. A core specialist formerly at the Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery Department of Xinqiao Hospital, affiliated with Army Medical University, she has worked on the clinical front line in skin laser and injectable treatment for more than 20 years, serving over ten thousand patients.

Her practice covers the procedural treatment of excessive sweating. She takes the history that separates focal sweating from a generalised pattern that needs investigating, maps the sweating area before treatment, and then treats it — most often with botulinum toxin for the underarms, hands or feet, and with energy-based devices where the underarm is the target. She also manages the skin itself: the irritation, maceration and fungal problems that years of moisture leave behind.

Clinical focus

  • Assessment of focal sweating: site, symmetry, triggers, family history and the pattern that points to a secondary cause
  • Botulinum toxin treatment for axillary, palmar and plantar hyperhidrosis, including repeat treatment planning
  • Energy-based treatment of axillary sweating and the selection of patients it suits
  • Topical treatment plans, including the correct use of aluminium-based antiperspirants
  • Skin care for sweating-related irritation, maceration and fungal infection

Academic roles & achievements

  • Member, Laser Medicine Group, Chinese Medical Association Plastic Surgery Branch
  • Member, Facial Rejuvenation Group, Chinese Medical Association Plastic Surgery Branch
  • Member, Chongqing Plastic Surgery Quality Control Center
  • Published 5 papers, holds 5 national patents, and introduced 2 new clinical techniques

The map comes before the injection

Sweat is invisible on the day of treatment, so the area that actually sweats has to be defined first — by history and by a starch-iodine map. Treating the wrong area wastes the treatment, and treating the whole palm with no plan is how temporary hand weakness happens.

Yongbo Jia, MD

Yongbo Jia, MD (贾勇波)

Deputy Director & Head of Dermatology · Vice Chief Physician, Licensed Aesthetic Attending

Dermatology · secondary causes · topical and oral treatment

Dr. Yongbo Jia is Deputy Director of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center and head of its dermatology service at Chongqing West District Hospital. A vice chief physician and licensed aesthetic attending, he graduated from Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and trained in dermatology at the Institute of Dermatology, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and at Chongqing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

His role in this service is the part that comes before treatment. He works up generalised sweating, reviews every medicine that could be responsible, looks for the conditions that present with sweating — thyroid disease, diabetes, the menopause, infection, and the rest — and decides when blood tests or imaging are genuinely needed. He then manages the topical and oral treatment of sweating and the skin damage that chronic moisture causes.

Clinical focus

  • Assessment of generalised sweating and the exclusion of secondary causes
  • Sweating caused by medicines, including antidepressants, hormonal treatment and diabetes medicines
  • Topical treatment, including the correct night-time use of aluminium-based antiperspirants
  • Oral treatment for widespread sweating and the monitoring it requires
  • Aftercare of skin damaged by chronic moisture: maceration, chafing and fungal infection

Academic roles & achievements

  • Member, Jiusan Society
  • Member, Chongqing Integrative Medicine Skin & Beauty Committee
  • Advanced training at the Institute of Dermatology (Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences) and Chongqing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Not every sweat needs a stronger product

Sweating that begins in later life, comes at night, or arrives with weight loss, fever or palpitations is a symptom to be explained, not a nuisance to be suppressed. Finding nothing wrong is a useful result too — it is what makes it safe to get on with treating the sweating itself.

Tongchun Mao, MD

Tongchun Mao, MD (毛彤春)

Deputy Director & Head of Aesthetic Surgery · Vice Chief Physician, Licensed Aesthetic Attending

Aesthetic surgery · sweat-gland surgery · scar-conscious closure

Dr. Tongchun Mao is Deputy Director of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center and head of its aesthetic surgery service at Chongqing West District Hospital. A core specialist formerly at the Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery Department of Xinqiao Hospital, affiliated with Army Medical University, he has rooted his clinical practice for more than 20 years and personally performs over 700 operations a year.

Within this service he performs the surgical treatment of underarm sweating: removing or curetting the sweat glands through small incisions, and repairing what earlier surgery left behind. The result of an underarm operation is judged partly by how well it works and partly by how the scars look, and the same scar-conscious technique that governs his facial practice governs the underarm.

Clinical focus

  • Surgical treatment of axillary hyperhidrosis: gland curettage and removal through small incisions
  • Scar-conscious closure and revision after previous sweat-gland surgery
  • Aesthetic excision of superficial lesions with refined cosmetic stitching
  • Detailed facial-feature refinement and repair (eyelid, nose, chin, lip)

Academic roles & achievements

  • Member, Rhinoplasty and Trunk Tumor Groups, Chinese Medical Association Plastic Surgery Branch
  • Member, Chongqing Medical Aesthetics Quality Control Center; Member, Chongqing Medical Accident / Disability Assessment Expert Pools
  • Deputy Chair, Chongqing Shapingba District Medical Aesthetics Committee
  • Published 5 SCI papers, holds 7 national patents, and has participated in 4 research projects
  • Repeatedly named an "Outstanding Young Physician" at Xinqiao Hospital since joining in 2005

The closure is the result

An underarm operation that controls the sweating but leaves a hard, tethered scar has only half worked. Fine closure technique, respect for the skin crease, and scar-conscious aftercare decide whether the scar fades into the skin or announces itself.

Shaoliang Wang, MD

Shaoliang Wang, MD (王韶亮)

Director, Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center · Vice Chief Physician, Associate Professor, Doctor of Medicine

Plastic surgery · surgical gland removal · complex repair

Dr. Shaoliang Wang is Director of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center at Chongqing West District Hospital. He previously served as Deputy Chief of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery at Xinqiao Hospital, affiliated with Army Medical University, and brings more than two decades of tertiary-hospital surgical experience to his practice.

Within this service he leads the surgical side: removal of the axillary sweat glands in the most stubborn cases, complex wound repair, correction of failed cosmetic operations, and the hospital-grade surgical and anaesthetic support that stands behind every procedure performed here.

Clinical focus

  • Surgical management of axillary hyperhidrosis, including removal of the sweat glands
  • Complex wound repair and management of complications after sweat-gland surgery
  • Excision and repair of moles, cysts, and other superficial lesions with layered cosmetic closure
  • Repair of failed cosmetic operations (revision and reconstruction)
  • Surgical removal of skin tumors with margin control

Academic roles & achievements

  • Member, Craniofacial Surgery Group, Chinese Medical Association Plastic Surgery Branch
  • Deputy Chair, Chongqing Medical Aesthetics & Beauty Committee
  • Standing Committee Member, Chongqing Medical Doctor Association Plastic Surgery Branch
  • Expert Panel, Chongqing Aesthetic Surgery Quality Control Center
  • Developed a new endoscope- and water-jet-assisted technique for removing injected polyacrylamide (Aomingding) breast filler; awarded the Wang Liangneng Cup Military Excellent Scientific Paper Award
  • Principal investigator on an international cooperation sub-project, a Chongqing Natural Science Foundation grant, and a Third Military Medical University technology-transfer project; published 4 SCI papers and holds 8 national invention patents

A hospital-based advantage

When surgery is needed for the underarm, the tissue goes to the hospital’s own pathologists, and complicated cases draw on anaesthesiology, imaging, and intensive care. Practicing inside a tertiary general hospital means those resources stand behind every operation.
